Health Access Nurturing Development Services (HANDS) is a voluntary home visitation program for all first time parents residing in Kentucky. Services can begin during pregnancy or anytime before a child is 3 months old.
HANDS is an educational service that promotes healthy pregnancies, births, healthy child growth and development, healthy and safe homes, and self-sufficient families.
The HANDS program is free to all first time moms and/or dads, regardless of their age or income. The staff of HANDS believe that a child’s parents are the most important people in that child’s life. A parent is the first and most important teacher a child will ever have.
HANDS offers information and support to parents as they build a healthy, safe and stimulating environment in which their baby can grow and develop.
For more information about the HANDS program or to sign-up, please contact Anderson County Health Department HANDS staff at (502) 839-4551.
